An Interesting Cricket Match Essay

In Pakistan, cricket is the most popular game. National team of Pakistan is among the top team of the world. Large amount of people including children and women watch cricket matches.

One of the most interesting matches of my life was when our school team played the inter-school final. On November 1, our school team played the final with last’s year interschool champion team. We all were very exciting. Our team won the toss and our captain elected to bat first. The weather was cloudy that day. At around 10 pm, the match started. Our team played and scored 180 in 20 overs. It was a good innings and amazing to watch.

The second innings started after lunch. The rival team’s openers were great and scored 120 in the start. We all thought that we would definitely loss the match but turning point came when one of our fast bowler took the wicket of the opener and that was the point we headed towards victory. After that, every player contributed single digit score and their whole team was out at the 160.

It was a great victory to enjoy. Large numbers of spectators had also enjoyed the match. We celebrated our win with great fun.

There are many days in life that bring joy and pleasure but some days are the happiest and remain in our mind forever. These days are the reminders of the amazing time we have spent. The happiest day of my life is a visit to an orphanage. The happiness I felt that day is no match with any other day of my life.

My friend likes to help others and she often likes to arrange visits to different orphanages. On one of her visit, she invited us all. As I was free that day, I have decided to go. First, I wasn’t excited at all. It didn’t know what I will do when I will reach there. It was in the plan to reach the place at 2 p.m. I went before time and started to wait for others.

There was a magic show arrangement for the children and magician was arranging his things. In the waiting area, I saw children watching where I was sitting. Then they called me inside with the other people I was sitting with. When I was with them, they started to ask so many questions that where I was from and why I am visiting them when I don’t know them? Their questions struck my mind.

When all the arrangements were completed in the hall, the children were asked to go in that area. They divided into groups and selected the person they liked most; they grabbed our hands and took us out. They sit with us and enjoyed the show while talking to us in the way that we are their old friends. They all were very beautiful and just our presence meant a lot to them.

After the show, we played different games and enjoyed different activities. We distributed gifts and sweets, painted their faces with cute butterflies and flowers, applied mehndi on girls’ hands, and eat with them. When it was leaving time, all the children had tears in their eyes and they were taking promise from each one of us that we will visit them often. With the promise of meeting again we left the place.

After my first meeting with these children, one thought hit my mind that they were thinking we had made their day but in the reality they have provided us the way to remain happy forever. I found that true happiness can only be enjoyed when you make others happy and specially those who don’t have anyone to call their own!

However, in our country, education is taken as the art of getting knowledge from the books only. This is the foremost reason of educational downfall in Pakistan.

There are many factors that are contributing to the destruction of education in Pakistan; government negligence, poverty, class discrimination, and poor education system are the top ones.

In the last few decades, many primary and secondary government schools have been developed in cities and villages and they are providing free education but their standard is no match with the schools of private sectors. In public schools, many students get enrolled every year but the school administration doesn’t care for the daily attendance. 

In government schools, students don’t get proper education as many government school teachers don’t bother to pay visit to the school and the students who go to these schools often don’t get educated in the way they deserve. This problem can only be solved with the involvement of government. It should take initiatives to control the attendance of the teachers at school.

Another big problem is the class discrimination that can be seen in the educational system of Pakistan also. Our elite class, which includes our ministers and officials, send their children to some best private schools. So the people with the power don’t concern with the poor educational system of the government schools.

The rise of poverty in Pakistan is forcing every single person of the house to work, as parents’ wages are low to support the whole family. When a poor has nothing to eat, how can he think about the education of his children. In this alarming situation, it is necessary for the government to introduce beneficial policies for the poor that can help them to educate their families.  As the less privileged people are in the majority, government should help them in education so they can be fruitful for Pakistan in the future.

There is a huge list of educational problems in Pakistan. We don’t have the power to change the system, but we can change ourselves. If we can afford, we should take the responsibility to teach at least one child who is illiterate. We can give tuition to the ones who are going to the government schools.  Sitting and condemning government cannot bring change; we can also do a lot!
